James “Jim” A. Patton, Registered Professional Geologist: Mr. Patton founded J & M Monitoring, Inc. in 1987. Prior to this, Jim worked with Engineers, Inc. and Bocook Engineering for a period of ten years where he was design engineer and staff geologist. While at Engineers, Inc. Jim acquired considerable experience with NPDES, KPDES, MSHA and EPA regulations. In addition, Jim gained valuable experience in preliminary hearings, formal hearings and other civil litigation by appearing as expert witness on behalf of many plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Patton is an EPA certified Asbestos Building Inspector, Asbestos Management Planner, Asbestos Abatement Contractor/Supervisor, Assurance Fund Contractor and Haz-Mat Specialist. Harold Coleman: Mr. Coleman is Manager of the J&M Consulting Unit. Harold obtained coal sampling and coal laboratory technician experience while employed by C T & E. Harold also gained valuable experience as water and wastewater technician in addition to Laboratory Supervisor experience while working at McCoy & McCoy, Inc. In addition, Mr. Coleman is a certified Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor and a Certified Lead Abatement Supervisor/Inspector. Jennifer Halbert, B. S. Science: Ms. Halbert is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Major in Biology and Minor in Chemistry. Jennifer has worked in the Environmental field since 1999. Jennifer has been involved with soil remediation projects, mold remediation projects, water and soil sampling for various coalmines and underground storage tanks. Jennifer is a Certified Contractor for the Office of Petroleum Storage Tank. Jennifer is a certified MET and has her surface mine papers. She also has her OSHA HAZWOPER certificate. Lisa F. Bentley: Ms. Bentley is the Administrative Unit Manager. Lisa is responsible for processing accounts payable/receivable, account collections, payroll processing, ordering office supplies, managing bank and petty cash accounts, preparing profit and loss reports, typing reports for mold and asbestos clients, typing reports of sampling events of UST sites, final review of employee timesheets, general data entry, serve as health insurance administrator, prepare customer quotes, preparing monthly tax forms and working with agent on general package/worker’s compensation/ liability insurance requirements for clients. Paula Damron: Ms. Damron is the Administrative Assistant and a graduate of Alice Lloyd College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Paula’s duties include answering telephones, greeting clients, providing Discharge Monitoring Reports, mailing analytical reports, packing coolers, filing, and typing. Paula will also become involved with the underground storage tank activities. Paula has been certified by the State of Kentucky for seven years in microbiology. Paul Adams: Mr. Adams is the Senior Field Services Supervisor. Paul’s primary duties are overseeing the daily field operations, managing vehicle fleet and field equipment. Paul is involved with remedial investigations, corrective actions, with groundwater and surface water. Also, Paul is involved with asbestos, lead and mold abatement projects. Marvin “Ross” Boyd: Mr. Boyd is a Sample Technician. Ross is presently attending Pikeville College completing his Degree in Chemistry. Ross is involved in collecting samples for coal and gas companies. Ross assists with the asbestos removal and mold inspections. rossb@jmmonitoring.com
